Early-Stage Researchers chairs
Early-Stage Researchers (ESR) chairs, formerly known as ‘super postdoc chairs’, are part of an initiative that is specific to several PEPR Quantum projects. This initiative aims to attract top-level researchers with international standing.
The winners are selected on an ongoing basis by the programme management team, based on proposals from a project coordinator. Each chair is thematically linked to at least one PEPR project. It has a dedicated budget, which allows for the support of various configurations, including:
- Support for the long-term recruitment of a postdoctoral researcher, accompanied by an environment (budget to support missions, publications and experimentation);
- Support for newly recruited young scientists: support for a major scientific project, which should form the cornerstone of their career. This includes the possibility of recruiting non-permanent staff (postdocs, doctoral students, engineers or interns) and covering additional operating costs, with a view to establishing a research team;
- Support for experimentation through co-financing of high-priority equipment.
The aim of this initiative is to create a stimulating environment for young researchers and promote scientific excellence while continuing to structure emerging fields of research within the programme’s axes.
