Sébastien Tanzilli discusses the challenges facing the PEPR Quantum programme

The United Nations has proclaimed 2025 as the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology (IYQ’25). To mark the occasion, the ANR has produced an overview of the major challenges facing the PEPR Quantum programme with Sébastien Tanzilli, programme director and coordinator for the CNRS.

Quantum physics, Schrödinger’s cat theory, quantum communication and post-quantum cryptography… In his interview with the ANR, Sébastien Tanzilli discusses all these topics and outlines the history of the PEPR Quantum programme, launched in 2021. He also presents the programme’s challenges, such as maintaining French sovereignty in this field and perpetuating the existing link between the academic and industrial worlds. It is also an opportunity to highlight the PEPR’s actions in terms of promoting quantum science and technology, notably through the funding of scientific events.
